Results for Newcastle parkrun, event number 104

On a sunny, crisp, wintry morning, 17 Tyne Bridger’s toed the line for the 104th Newcastle parkrun event. And apart from a few icy stretches around the 5k course, conditions were just about perfect for running, with Joanne Lee, Vicki Deritis, Kate Meek, Megan Parkin, Chris Parkin and Anji Close all making the most of the conditions by recording new PB times. Congratulations to all the aforementioned.

Congratulations too, to the first finisher from the club, David Appleby, who ran a time of 18m 17s, just a few seconds ahead of second placed finisher Daniel Birchall, 18m 32s. First female finisher for the club was Catherine Amos, in a time of 20m 40s.
Well done to all the members for turning out.

Next Saturday, 21st January 2012, is the 2nd Anniversary of Newcastle parkrun, and as well as the normal run, there will also be a presentation following the event, celebrating all that’s good (and dodgy) about parkrun, the runners and the volunteers. Further details can be found on the Newcastle parkrun website, http://www.parkrun.org.uk/newcastle/news
