Leading with Juniors in the Group
For the average session having juniors in the group will have no bearing or impact on the session, other than you need to be aware of anyone under 18 in your group.
In the event that a junior falls off the pace or drops out of the session:
· You will need to accompany the junior either at the back of the session at their pace or back to the pool. If it’s back to the pool, you’ll need to ask either the other leaders or another experienced runner to take over leading the group and you’ll need to ask another adult to accompany you with the junior.
· After the session you’ll need to complete an incident report, with:
o Name of Junior
o Your name and names of whoever accompanied you, other leaders or whoever took over leading the session
o Any details.
If a junior drops off regularly, their attendance at senior sessions will be discussed with them and appropriate action taken.
