Sherman Cup / Davison Shield Cross Country
Temple Park, South Shields

For all those present at Saturday’s cross country the end of British Summer Time came a day early as a chill wind whipped across Temple Park, reaching parts that other winds don’t reach.
So severe were the conditions that several competitors required medical attention after their race and it was noticeable how quickly finishers made their way back to the club tents rather than wait around for team-mates to complete the race.
The senior ladies team finished in 5th position and the veteran ladies in 25th position.
The senior men were narrowly beaten into 4th place and the veteran men finished in 8th place.
In the final standings for the Sherman Cup and Davison Shield (taking into account results from junior races), the men finished 16th and the ladies finished in 10th position.
Well done to everyone who turned out to represent the club.
