A round-up of results featuring Tyne Bridge members.

And we have to begin with the The Wall Ultramarathon (Saturday 21st/Sunday 22nd June). This 69 Mile race, starting from Carlisle Castle and finishing at Baltic Quay, Gateshead, includes several categories; one an ‘expert‘ race, with competitors attempting to complete the race in one go, and another category being the ‘challenge‘ race, where competitors are treated to an overnight stay at the halfway point.

I’ve spotted five members in the results (two in the expert race and three in the challenge) but if your name is missing, please get in touch and I’ll add you to the list.

When pre-race instructions consist of “don’t get run over by a tram and don’t get hit by any golf balls” then you know you’re not in for your typical run of the mill road race. For those who haven’t heard of the Seven Hills of Edinburgh race; setting off from Calton Hill, located just outside the city centre, competitors have to ascend six hills (or big climbs) surrounding the city before finishing back at Calton Hill 15 miles later. There are no course markers, no closed roads (except at the very start of the race) and runners are requested from trespassing private property. As if we would :-)

If you’re looking for a running challenge in 2015 you’d be hard pushed to find an event like this one. Definitely recommended for the adventurous.
