Well done to the 11 club members who took part in the 61st Brampton to Carlisle Road Race.

In perfect conditions for running, new member Matty Tomlinson was first finisher for the club in 26th position, his time of 58:21 earning him 3rd prize in the V40 category. Matty was also part of the 3rd place Vets Men Team, alongside Dave Young and I (which incidentally is my first prize as a veteran athlete. Don’t whether to cry with joy or sadness ;-) ).

Congratulations also to Chris Parkin and Claire Miller-Grossett, who both recorded PB’s, and to John Tollit, Vicki Deritis and Joanne Lee for completing their first ever 10 Mile race.

Yared Hagos (Wallsend) won the race and Dumfries’ Joanna Zakrzewski was first female finisher.

Full race report to follow.

  1. Well done everyone.

That’s some achievement DD , running sub hour at Brampton after running sub half hour at Blaydon yesterday !

  2. On behalf of John, Joanne and myself I would like to claim some more PB’s please. The basis of these claims are that none of the 3 of us have ever run a 10 mile race before!
