There was a real mixture of conditions for the various age category races, with the largest loop (which thankfully a lot of the juniors managed to miss) being atrocious by the time the senior men got to it. “A bit gooey” was the understatement of the day, made by one of the TBH Dads who later ran in the senior race. On the whole the small loop that most of the juniors were running on was firm, and no-where near as bad as some of the sections the seniors and some of the older juniors had to run on.

The first junior race we had representation in was the U13 girls, and Ruby Colver made light work of the 3.08k or the 2 loops she had to run finishing it all off in 13:45

Next up was Fraser Bigg who had a small loop and then the full big loop, so probably had the worst of it out of all the juniors. It didn’t deter him at all, finishing the 6.2k course in a time of 30:31

Our biggest turnout was in the 3.08k 2 small loop course for the U13 boys race. David Carr was first in in a time of 11:14, with Jake Moir in hot pursuit in a time of 11:47 and Harry Snaith close behind in 12:20. Unfortunately, it’s 4 for a team in these championship races, so we missed out by a single runner.

Finally, in the U15 girls race we had Hope Moir and Amber Maynard, racing over a 4.6k (3 lap) course. Hope completed the course in a time of 22:22 with Amber finishing just one place behind, in a time of 22:40.

Not sure what everyone had for the sandwich report, but I can state that the Moirs went full vegan, and am a bit mystified why everyone keeps saying they have a problem finding nice vegan cheese. I had one cream cheese and rocket salad, followed by a vegan cheese and ham and mustard combo, and both were really good.
