Typical, you wait ages for a cross-country race then suddenly there’s one every weekend for 3 consecutive weeks.
Group 3 Coach, Mal Gibson, writes about the forthcoming Masters XC.
This years’ North East Masters Cross Country Championship races are at Darlington on Saturday 7th February. The women race approximately 6km while the gents race about 8km.
The age groups go in 10 year bands, e.g 35-44, 45-54, etc. An athlete can count below their age but not in the group above.
Last year (at Wallsend) our girls won the over-35 category team prize and our lads took 2nd place. TBH also picked up several individual medals and it would be great to have more success this year.

North East Masters events are friendly as well as competitive so please give it a go.
