Adrian Brooks – 24 Hours on the Tyne

A request for help from Adrian Brooks.

Hello all!

As some of you may know, I am putting the finishing touches to a plan I have to run for 24 hours on the Quayside. I am doing this partly to continue training for my 100 mile run I am running next year and also to begin fundraising for an event in two years time, the Brathay 10/10 challenge. That event is 10 marathons in 10 days over the 26.2 of the Windermere marathon route. To be selected requires some serious fundraising, hence my very early start to it!

My 24 hour challenge will be from 6pm on the 30th October until 6pm on the 31st. I’ve included my just giving link but my main request here is for help! I will be running the ‘usual’ mile loop, over the Millennium Bridge, towards the style Bridge crossing on the swing bridge and back towards the Millennium. I may even change direction occasionally :-)

Please find below a link to my gorgeous google document creation, made by the wonderful Michael Nemeth! There you will find time slots and space for both running support and also “Other” which would be side line support, tending to the collection bucket and “encouraging” donations and also making sure I don’t end up face first in the Tyne! This form is editable and saveable so please, any offers/times you can come to support me would be VERY much appreciated! Any night owls would be valued immensely!

I’m having a small piece written in the Chronicle and will of course be keen to ensure the spotlight is shone on our amazing club. If you have any ideas that may be worth a try to increase exposure, please let me know!

Info re the raffle for a iPad….

Thank you for expressing an interest in entering my raffle for a brand new iPad. I am raising money for Brathay Trust. A fabulous organisation that works to inspire young people in the Windermere area.

You can find information about them here :

    http://www.brathay.org.uk

I am funding this iPad as I believe I have been lucky enough to have opportunities and chances in life. All money raised, online and off, will go to the charity.

To be in with a chance I am offering strips of five numbers. They cost £5 per strip. As an incentive, if you buy £10 worth I will give you a third strip for free.

To enter, you will need to follow this link :

    https://www.justgiving.com/24hoursonthetyne/

    1. Donate the required amount clearly stating your NAME and FOR RAFFLE TICKETS : for example if you wish to have two strips (with the third free) that would be £10 (Plus gift aid please!).

    2. You must then EMAIL ME to this email, stating your name and donation in the subject header. I cannot check the website enough to ensure I see all donations.

    3. I will then check on just giving and if all confirmed email you a picture of your tickets and numbers.

I am of course happy to give them to you in person if we can arrange a convenient time.

The draw, all being physically well, will occur at 6pm on the 31/10/14 after I finish the event. If this is not possible it will be as soon as practical. The draw will be adjudicated by members of my team to ensure fairness and impartiality.

I hope this is clear. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any clarification

    Thank you

    Adrian
