Saturday 10th May 2014 – Churchill Playing Fields track, Monkseaton (Postcode – NE26 3NS)
In conjunction with the TBH Golden Mile, the junior section is holding an athletics open day with the opportunity to try jumping and throwing events, culminating in the juniors running a timed 800m on the track. This event is open to existing TBH juniors and prospective junior members who’d like to see the sort of things we get up to at the club whilst having loads of FUN
Split into teams, juniors will compete in several track & field themed games, and with a points system as cunning as a fox that’s just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University, this is promising to be an exciting and completely fair competition just to add a bit of fun to the day.
It would really help the event organiser’s if parents could let the club have names and DoB’s in advance. You can just turn up on the day, and we will still let you take part, but it would help a lot if the club knew how many are turning up so we can allocate athletes to teams. Feel free to suggest team names, or have some suggestions ready for on the day.
All juniors wishing to take part in the activities must be at the venue for 9:45am.
There will be a prize giving ceremony with refreshments afterwards (feel free to hold a Harrier League type Bake-Off TBH regulars ), and you are all welcome to stay and cheer on the seniors in their mile races.
