Results roundup: 26th & 27th October 2013

A round-up of races featuring Tyne Bridge runners.

Venice Marathon: 27th October 2013

Many congratulations to Tony Carter and Emily Collinge on their performances in this year’s Venice Marathon.

Emily was a member of Tyne Bridge for a short time in 2011 and still keeps in contact with several of the members, including Tony. Earlier in the year Emily asked Tony whether he could ‘pace’ her for a sub 3-hour time during the event. Well he certainly did that (and some) as both recorded the exact time of 2:52:50

Newcastle Town Moor Marathon: 27th October 2013

In an event a little closer to home, Tyne Bridge had three members taking part in this year’s Newcastle Marathon, which consisted of 5 laps around the Town Moor. In spite of the strong winds and heavy downpours, all three runners – Dave Young, Adrian Brooks and Dave Antill – ran superbly well.

Dave Young: 3.18.17

Adrian Brooks: 3.46.22

Dave Antill: 3.50.29

Congratulations to the three lads and massive thanks to all the members who went along to support the race – either in a volunteering role or to spectate.

Alasdair Blain (5th, 01:33:56) and Shaun Cowan (14th, 01:52:37) were also wearing the black and white at the Castles Half, although we had registered for the race before joining the club. Cheers.
