Thanks to a couple of outstanding performances from Marc Fenwick and Tony Carter, Tyne Bridge Harriers continued their drive for promotion to the Men’s 1st Division.

Fine weather and fairly dry ground conditions made for an excellent day’s racing, and with a turn-out of 24 men, the club packed out the field well and finished in a respectable 4th place overall* (1st in Division 2). Well done to all the lads who competed.

In the ladies race, the stand-out Tyne Bridge performance came from Kym Eden, who finished in a terrific 7th position. But with any team competition, it’s all about strength in depth, and with nine more ladies competing alongside Kym, they managed to finish in 14th place overall. So again, well done to all the lasses who turned out to represent the club.

Finally, a special mention to Ben Priestley – one of the shining lights at the club – who finished 3rd in the Under-17’s race. Ben, who is still only 15, ran a great race, staying composed throughout, and finished strongly at the end to claim a well deserved bronzed medal. Congratulations Ben.
