parkrun roundup: 3rd November 2012

There were several reasons why Saturday’s Newcastle parkrun was notable for Tyne Bridge Harriers.

Firstly, David Beech proved a good runner can run a quick time on any course, making light work of the muddy sections of the route and finishing first in the event with a new PB of 16:38.

Mark Jackson also achieved a PB, with a time of 19:31, down 21 seconds from his previous best.

But as pleasing as David’s and Mark’s performances were, it was also good to see three members making they parkrun debut, as Gail Allan, Nicola Brady and Sinead Coffey joined the other 15 club members around the Town Moor course. Welcome to parkrun ladies.

Finally, on a personal note, it was fantastic to see Rob (Shades) Kirtley making his along awaited comeback at Newcastle parkrun, and hopefully it won’t be as long until his next appearance. ;-)
