Northern Athletics 6-Stage Road Relay Championships
Sport City, Manchester: Sunday 25 September 2016
Sunday (25th September) was just your typical average day for Tyne Bridge Harriers; Marc (Fenwick) and James (Dunce) winning in Redcar, Terry (Scott) finishing 1st in the Prudhoe 10K and Becky Parkin 1st Lady at the Haltwhistle Half. That’s not mentioning Mary (Pattison) setting a FV60 10K club record and a host of other members running PB’s in various races around the region. Yeah, not a bad day all round.
But equally as pleasing was the performance of the six guys who travelled to Manchester for this year’s 6-Stage Road Relay Champs. The team, consisting of Finn Brodie, Tom Charlton, David Green, Alex Black, David Moir and Paul Turnbull, finished in 33rd place overall, but more importantly, with other club’s ‘B’ teams removed from the results, finished 25th ‘A’ team, thereby qualifying for the National Championships in a few weeks time.
