parkrun results – May 12th 2012

On a glorious sunny day in Newcastle, a grand total of 324 runners took part in the latest Newcastle parkrun event.  And out of that number, there were nine club members completing the 5k course around the Town Moor. First for the club was Sparrow Morley in a Newcastle course PB of 16m 43s (down from 16m48s), followed by  Simon Pryde (19:27), Ed Moore (20:06 – New PB), Graham King (21:14), Tim Hawkins (21:46), Joy Fenwick (21:48), Chris Parkin (23:21), Megan Parkin (23:29 and making her 10th parkrun appearance) and Stephanie McFarlane (29:09 – New PB by over 2 minutes).

Well done to all the above, especially the three members who recorded PB’s. They’re obviously fair weather runners ;-)

Meanwhile, over in County Durham, Davina Reay completed her 56th parkrun around the scenic Durham parkrun course in a time of 36m 49s. Well done Davina.

And finally, in Bonny Scotland (Edinburgh to be precise), Rob Wishart took part in their parkrun event, clocking a time of 23m 39s. Now, any other time, that would be a decent 5k time, but if I said Rob ran from Glasgow to Edinburgh the previous day (approximately 60 miles!!!), then it makes his time even more remarkable. Good work fella.
