Alnwick Harrier league race report

By Finlay Dorman

Well done to all TBH Juniors who turned out to race a very challenging course today (Saturday, 28th February).

It was a warm day in Alnwick with the sun just occasionally peeping through the clouds.  Our youngest competitor started his first full TBH debut with some fire in his legs! Jake Moir, running against much older children, finished a well fought 56th place.

Next up was the u11 girls with Lauren Bird leading them home finishing a well-earned 47th place and only 3 places behind was Anna Dorman finishing 50th, Hope Moir also battled hard and finished 61st. Jessica Walton fell over on a highly technical downhill run into the finish, although like Madonna, she bravely picked herself up and still continued finishing a respectable 64th.

Then it was the u13 boys. Jake Dorman ran a robust race finishing 13th on overall time. Finlay Dorman also ran and finished a steady 23rd.

Finally it was Lily Hall in the u13 girls. Unfortunately she was unaccompanied, but despite no team to support her she finished 54th on her TBH debut!

To summarise, we all enjoyed the course, and were pleased with our runs. I think we have all managed to banish the demons from the Jarrow race! I will definitely be looking forward to racing at Alnwick again next season. I think the same could be said for everyone 🙂

Good luck for all the TBH juniors for Wrekenton. Hopefully we can make 2 full teams in the u13 category.

Finlay
