TBH Juniors sweep the board at the Weetslade Junior Cross Country.

Race Report by Finlay Dorman

After the traumatic experience of last week’s cross country, 6 brave TBH juniors risked another race. We obviously hadn’t learned our lesson! However the sun shone on Weetslade Country Park, so optimism was high.

Before commending the U11 girls, first a mention for the phenomenal effort by our single competitor in the U11 boys, Jake Moir. In his first full race representing TBH, he ran strongly, and there is much more to come from this young talent.

In the U11 girls, a great effort by Hope Moir resulted in her first cross country medal, finishing 3rd, well done Hope! Lauren Bird put in a very solid performance to finish 2nd. Anna Dorman lead from the front and won her race.

Top three positions for the TBH U11 girls – well done!

Next came the U13 boys. It was a lovely route, with a decisive hill half way round that helped Jake Dorman to drop the competition and pull away from the pack. He was able to maintain his lead despite a technical downhill section, and finished strongly to win the overall race.

Finlay Dorman also ran very well but unfortunately tripped over at the end, finishing sixth.

Everyone really enjoyed the run and the route was excellent.  A big thank you must go to Gosforth Harriers for organising the run.  It was top notch for Tyne Bridge!  Thank you very much also to Morag for coming along to support us, and bringing the delicious mars bar cake.
