The 2025/26 North East Harrier League (NEHL) cross country season is here! There are some changes to its usual fixtures, with two new venues.

For new members, we we try to get as many as runners as possible out at the NEHL events. They are open to everyone, you will not be last, we take the tent, flag, and there may even be tea, coffee, and cakes. A beginner’s guide to the Harrier League can be found here.

There are 7 Harrier League fixtures (one more than usual) plus the Sherman Cup/Davison Shield:

  • 27th September (Sat) – Thornley Hall Farm
  • 12th October (Sun) – Druridge Bay
  • 25th October (Sat) – Lambton Estate
  • 23rd November (Sun) – Wrekenton
  • 17th or 18th January (Sat or Sun) – Lemington
  • 31st January (Sat) – Temple Park [Sherman Cup/Davison Shield]
  • 28th February (Sat) – Alnwick Castle Pastures
  • 21st March (Sat) – Eltringham Farm

For all fixtures, the women’s race is approx. 6.5k (2 laps, 13:20 start) while the men’s race is approx. 9.5k (3 laps, 13:50 start).

Once again, the club will cover your entry so there is nothing to pay all season! In addition, there will be a special reward (unique TBH merch) for anyone who completes 4 fixtures (or 50% of those that go ahead).

Our women’s team were 4th in Division 1 in last year’s weather-affected season, while our men were 3rd, also in Division 1. This season, we will be looking to get both teams on the Div 1 podium! It doesn’t matter if you think you aren’t fast, it is the number of our runners on the course that matters. The more members that run, the better we score relative to the other teams. It’s a great way to support your club!

Please fill in the form below to sign up. Even if you can only attend late-season fixtures it is much easier for us to get you registered now. The form will close on Friday 19th September to allow us to do the entries ahead of the NEHL deadline on the 22nd. Please note that this form is intended for senior athletes, parents should get in touch with the junior coordinator for junior entries.

We look forward to seeing you out there!

If you have been registered with both TBH and another club in the last two seasons, please choose the option corresponding to your most recent registration.
The club will cover all NEHL entry fees this year. However, because registration costs are rising, we ask that anyone who signs up but doesn’t run in a fixture repays their registration fee. This will help keep us in a position to subsidise entries in the future.

Volunteering

To make each fixture as enjoyable as possible (especially when the mud is at its deepest!), we aim to bring along the tent, club flag, tea/coffee, and cakes. This only happens with the help of volunteers. This season, we’d like to put together a list of members who are happy to help with transporting things, setting up, bringing cake etc. If you’re willing to lend a hand, and don’t mind being contacted about this, please let us know below.
