Report by Hope Moir

I started off today by going along to the high jump. When I arrived I was quite shocked to find every one was twice the height of me, so I thought they were under 17s and that I was the only under 13 there, but It turned out not to be the case. There were 5 of us all together so once we had all signed in, the competition started. Because of a new rule to me, we only had 30 seconds to jump, so every thing went quite quickly. Two people went out at 1.05 I went out at 1.15 then it was 1.25 followed by 1.30 for the winner. All in all it was a good competition. (Hope won the Bronze medal in the U13 girls high jump competition, which may be the first county medal won by a TBH junior  – DD)

After that it was the 100m sprint in which I came last in my heat but it was still a really great race. Through out the day, the weather was quite cloudy but warm and lucky for everyone there it didn’t rain.  I think it was a great competition and that it would be great if more Tyne Bridgers turned up next time as  its really fun and I will definitely go next year.

Also huge thanks to Daniel and Sam (from Blyth and Wallsend) for there fantastic coaching and encouragement.
