Race Report by Anna Dorman

Even though today wasn’t a club race, I thought it was still worth mentioning because of the big TBH appearance. As I was walking onto the main field where all the schools were, I spotted several Tyne Bridger’s. Some of those being myself, my brother Finlay, Jake Moir, Amber, Lucy, Isaac, Zak and Will.

Although I didn’t see them race, I’m sure they did very well.

My excitement from being picked for the team to represent my school very soon turned into disappointment. We were missing school Christmas dinner! With school Christmas dinner being one of the highlights of the term, I was gutted, but still keen to get my spikes on and do what I do best. When we arrived, I recognised the school from last year and remembered that the course wasn’t actually too bad. It had 4 fields that the race went over and is flat, apart from a few measly ramps. The race I was competing in, the year 8 & 9 girls was 3 laps of 3 of the fields. Last year, we only did 2! It seemed like a long way. But somehow, I ploughed through it, finishing 8th. I was really happy on how I did, as I beat my main rivals, was 3rd counter for the school and beat someone who normally thrashes me.

It was a good race and it was nice to see fellow Tyne Bridge juniors compete for their school too.

Well done to everyone who raced!

Anna
