Hope Moir reports from the first Cross Country race of the season.

Farringdon Cross-Country: Saturday, 13th September 2014

On Saturday my friend Anna and I did a 1K cross country run in Sunderland in the under 11s race.

At the start we felt quite nervous because there were a lot of people older than us that we thought would be faster than us.

At the start we started at the back, but got closer to the front. There were a lot of thistles and nettles. My Mum, Dad and lots of other people from Tyne Bridge cheered me on. There were some small hills that were a little bit tricky.

I felt quite tired at the end but proud that I ran well, Anna & I finished the race together. We then cheered on Eve and Jane in the U13 race.

Mum made a very tasty lunch.

When we had all finished the race we went and stroked some dogs. Some of the juniors then got lost so we had to go and help find them.

Here is a picture of a dog, we nearly dog-napped.
