Blood, Sweat and Tears – Sherman Cup / Davison Shield – Temple Park, Saturday, 25th October 2014

We had a strong turn-out in both the U13 and U11 categories at this fixture.

First up were the U11’s, and after a few tumbles at the start, which involved several of our runners getting spiked and hitting the floor, they bravely helped each other up then dusted themselves off and carried on.

The massive unprecedented turn-out for this age category, has made the Harrier League committee consider their options, and I’m fairly convinced that this age category will be split into separate boys and girls races to address the ever increasing numbers in future races this year.

U11 Results.

3.27 Ben Hawkins

3.48 Anna Dorman

3.58 Lauren Bird

3.58 Molly Anderson

3.58 Sophia Das

4.13 Jessica Walton

4.20 Dillon Wallace

4.56 Hope Moir

Next up were the U13 boys and we closed a team of Jake Dorman, Finlay Dorman and then Keiron Wilkinson.

U13 Boy’s Results.

12.13 Jake Dorman

13.46 Finlay Dorman

14.56 Keiron Wilkinson

This was closely followed by a gutsy performance from another full team for the U13 Girls of Eve Helm, Jane Harland and Alicia Wallace.

U13 Girl’s Results.

14.09 Eve Helm

16.40 Jane Harland

18.37 Alicia Wallace

Closing teams in the U13 category has been a great first step in filling the ranks of the junior section of the club.

For the Sherman cup you need to close teams in all age categories (U13, U15, U17 & U20) to stand a chance of winning, but a few years ago, we only had a couple of juniors running. I just keep seeing the junior section going from strength to strength at every training session and race we attend, so let’s keep it up.

Well done TBH Juniors
