TBH Training Sessions

Our main training sessions take place on Tuesday & Thursday evenings, starting and finishing at East End Pool, Byker (NE6 1AL).

Sessions last for approximately 1 hour and include a warm-up run, the main session unit and a cool down run back to East End Pool.

Tuesday sessions usually focus on speed work (short, hard efforts) and Thursday sessions are geared towards runner endurance (longer, steady paced efforts). Sessions vary weekly and full details are provided prior to the session.

Below is a typical Thursday training session:

10 minutes warm-up run

Several minutes of running drills

2 x 2 miles @ 10K Goal Race Pace (2 minutes recovery between efforts)

10 minutes cool down run

Post-run stretches

New runners

New runners are always welcome along on a club night to try out training sessions.

There’ll be no pressure to join, no expectation to run beyond your means and you won’t be left behind to run on your own.
If you can complete 5 Km under 35 minutes you will be more than capable of taking part in the regular Tuesday/Thursday sessions.

If you are interested in trying a training session with Tyne Bridge Harriers, please complete this form and one of our members will get back to you.

    Hi TBH,

I was just wondering if you were still using the track at Churchill on Sat morning 10-12? Or whether it would be possible to share use this coming Saturday as a one off?

There is the final YDL on Sunday so wondering if you’re not using this week? We would normally be at Gateshead but it is closed this Saturday due to another football match.

It would only be for 5-6 athletes who are not taking part in our YDL.

    Kind Regards
