Member of the Month: March 2014

Although the introduction of Member of the Month award was a great idea by the committee, trying to select just the ONE winner from a plethora of nominees doesn’t half create a headache for the voting panel.

Worthy of a mention from the March candidates are Tony Carter (a 10k PB in the Seville 10k and winner of the Gibraltar Half-Marathon), Shaun Brown (ran a superb 1h 59m in the East Hull 20 Mile) and Becky Parkin (recorded a PB at the Wallsend 5k).

But the winner of March Member of the Month is Leodhais MacPherson.

Because Leodhais has been a member for several years, it’s easy to forget how young he is.  And this was never more apparent than last month when he took part in the Scottish Junior Road Race Championships, competing in the Under-13 Boys race.

Finishing in a respectable 12th place overall, Leodhais helped his club to 2nd place in the team competition, picking up a silver medal in the process.

Congratulations Leodhais

  1. Well done Leodhais. You’re a credit to your clubs (Tyne Bridge & Cambuslang) and to your family.
