Training Sessions: w/c 6th January 2014

This week’s training sessions are;

Tuesday 7th January

Race 4 of the TBH Winter Series, an exact 5k race along Newcastle Quayside with athletes crossing both the Swing Bridge and Millennium Bridge.

Don’t worry if you haven’t competed in any of the first three races as your current form in training and any recent races will be taken into consideration when the Handicaps are set. New runners to the club are welcome to take part in the event.

For those not familiar with handicap races, slower runners set off first with faster runners introduced at pre-determined intervals, with hopefully everybody finishing at the same time!

All competitors are required to register at East End Pool between 6:00 – 6:30pm before making their way to Low Walker for the 7:00pm start.

Runners competing in the event for the first time are asked to fill in this pre-registration form.

Further details about the event can be found here and a map of the route here.

(the event requires lots of marshals and stewards, so if you want to help out in any way we’d love to hear from you).

Wednesday 8th January

Beginners session, starting 6:30pm at East End Pool.

This session is aimed for beginners and may be unsuitable for experienced runners.

Thursday 9th January

Group 1. Fartlek Run

Group 2. Fartlek Run

Group 3. Fartlek Run

Group 4. Fartlek Run

Note: Sessions may change on discretion of coaches.

New runners are always welcome along on a club night to try out the training sessions.

There’ll be no pressure to join, no expectation to run beyond your means and you won’t be left behind to run on your own.

If you are interested in trying a training session with Tyne Bridge Harriers, please complete this form & one of our coaches will get back to you.
