Greggs Cancer Run 2012

Two shining stars for the future donned their running shoes today and took part in the Greggs Cancer runs at the Racecourse, and they’ve both sent in race reports. First up is the 6 year old daughter of David Rowe, who did the 1 mile run.

i was nervous at the start but asoon as i started to run i enjoyed my self. i got mudy  as i dun it. i got a medl and i flelt proud.

Then 8 year old Pearl Walker, daughter of Sue Mullinger took on the 5 miles.

On Sunday 13th of May I did the Greggs  Cancer run. It was really hard.It was 5 miles,it sounds easy but it’s not because 5 miles is running to Heaton Park back home and back half way again. When we set off the floor was dry but after that the floor started to get muddier and muddier as we went on.On mile 3 it was really slippy and a boy who was doing it  went on the slippy  pach and fell in the mud. There was another boy who lost his shoe in mud. After the race we got a medal and a packed lunch.

Fantastic effort from both of you, well done!

Well done. I did the run too and I got very muddy. But it was lots of fun.

Great report. My 5 year old son, Luke did the 1 mile run. He ran all the way and said it was hard because, “It made my heart hurt.” He had a great time and some of his school friends did it. The medal he got is better than the one I got for doing the Edinburgh Marathon last year! He’ll be back next year.

  1. Great race reports from you both. Keep up the running and the writing to let us know how you get on.
