Guisborough Woods Fell Race- 27th December 2011

Sent in by Gareth Huxley.

Anyone up for an outing on the fells over Christmas? This is a
excellent race for burning off the Christmas pud, and also a good
first race for anyone who is new to fell running. It always gets a
good turnout, and as with all of Dave Parry’s races, there are bound
to be prizes galore.

It is 6 miles, and the course is actually 3 x 2 mile laps. There
should be no navigational difficulties, as it will be marked and
marshalled. As in all winter races “kit” needs to be carried, which
means full body cover, plus map of the course, compass and whistle.

Race start is 1100, entry is £6 on the day at race HQ, which is
Guisborough Rugby Club.

  1. Hi Gareth, if I don’t want to come a cropper again (as per my last fell race) I’d better add some trail shoes to my list for Santa. And a full body cover, map, compass and whistle.
