Well done to all the TBH Juniors who took part in Saturday’s cross country event at Alnwick.
Finlay and Anna Dorman have written a race report.
On a soggy Saturday, eleven TBH juniors were really up against it. Not only with the very hilly and energy sapping course, but with the very changeable weather. Choosing what clothes to run in was a nightmare, one minute it was hailing, the next it was sunny.
First up was the under 11 boys starting the show with cracking performances. First junior to finish was Jake Moir running an excellent 43rd. Completing our under 11 boys team was Jack Cowan, finishing in a well-earned 56th.
Next was the U11 girls race, which has always been a TBH junior’s strong point, always having a big turnout. Leading the girls home was a sublime run from Anna Dorman getting her best ever place of 15th. Just one second after was Amelia Short finishing a very good 16th. Also running very well was Lauren Bird who came an impressive 22nd. Then was Hope Moir running an excellent 32nd. Closing off the TBH U11’s was Hannah Cherif finishing a well-earned 42nd.
Starting off the U13’s for TBH was Finlay Dorman making his debut in the fast pack. In a muddy and draining course Finlay fought hard and finished a pleasing 41st. (He was 21st on time.)
Our U13 competitor for the girls was Hannah Cowan, despite having no team around her she still finished a strong 42nd.
To finish off with was our two U15 boys, both running in the fast pack, Leodhais Macpherson and Jake Dorman. Leodhais finished an outstanding 9th place (2nd on time!) The final junior to finish was Jake, coming a steady 31st.
Well done to everyone who ran and hopefully the next cross country race at Wrekenton in two weeks time (Saturday, 19th March) will be a warmer affair.
