North East Masters Track and Field Championships 2014

The championships for the NEMAA were held on Saturday 28th June 2014 at Monkton Stadium (Jarrow) and there was a good turnout as usual from TBH.

 

Athletes included;

 

Jacqueline Etherington (Javelin, Discus, Shot, Long Jump)

Joanne Lee (3000m)

Lucy Matheson (200m, 400m, 800m)

Lisa Walker (1500m, 3000m)

Lindsay Walsh (80m Hurdles)

 

Mal Gibson (800m, 5000m)

Alan Hodgson (5000m)

Kenny Mac (800m, 1500m)

Edwin Wong (800m, 1500m, Long Jump, Triple Jump)

David Young (800m, 5000m)

 

Medals were awarded for the top 3 in each Veteran age category with GOLD going to Lindsay (80m hurdles), Joanne (3000m), Jacqueline (Javelin, Discus and Long Jump) and Alan (5000m).

It was a rewarding day all round with a blend of personal best performances, attempts at new disciplines (both on the track and on the field), camaraderie and generally hard graft from all.
