Huge congratulations to the 12 members who brought home Tyne Bridge in a fantastic 15th position in this year’s Northern 12-stage relays.

The team, consisting of Shaun Brown, Marc Fenwick, Kevin Jeffress, John Morley, Louis Goffe, Andrew Dougal, Anthony Bagley, David Anderson, Darryl Davison, Chris Graham, James Dunce and Douglas Tickner, rose to the challenge (of finishing in the Top 25) and are a credit to the club.

Besides finishing 15th overall, Tyne Bridge were also 3rd North-East club (behind Morpeth and Gateshead Harriers, who finished 3rd and 12th overall respectively).

Although a great achievement by the team and a fantastic day for the club, the occasion is marred slightly by the fact this was Kev Jeffress’ last race for Tyne Bridge. I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone at the club when I thank him for all that he has done for the Tyne Bridge and wish him all the best for the future.

Massive well done to lads today, to qualify for the nationals is a huge achievement and one we should be very proud of. To achieve it in only the third year of the clubs existence is nothing short of amazing. Thanks to the 12 who did us proud today. I’d like to echo DD’s comments and give an extra special thanks to my favourite Mackem Kev Jefress for his time as a member of TBH and wish Kev all the very best for his adventures with his new club.
