Circuits in the Park (CITP)

Club member, Stephen Dixon, introduces us to the world of Circuits in the Park.

I set up Circuits in the Park in 2010 because I had always trained outdoors and people started to approach me to ask about what I was doing.  Friends, work colleagues and fellow gym buddies all wanted a piece of what I was doing……..Circuits in the Park was born!

About 6 months had passed and 3 attendees grew to 20+.  I have always been involved in charity work since my school days.  I work full time for the NHS and decided to run Circuits in the Park in aid of charity.  In 2011 I raised money for the Teenage Cancer Unit at the RVI and this year I am raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.  This year is a little closer to my heart as my Auntie was diagnosed with the disease at the young age of 53.  Throughout the year I have been doing various events such as 24hr walk, fancy dress circuits, charity netball game, charity evening, Kielder marathon, Great North Run, etc.

I am trying to raise £10,000 this year and my total so far is £5, 486.  All I ask is that members make a £1 donation each time they attend class but this is not compulsory.

Leaner, Fitter, Stronger

What do we do at circuits?

The kind of exercises we do at circuits: jumping squats, step ups, lunge walks, skipping, abs, incline press ups, jumping jacks, crab walks, and many, many more.

Improve Stamina

Go faster for longer with my endurance, boosting, recovery, enhancing CITP circuit.  Quick-line fire, cardio, short high intensity interval sessions are the smartest way of training and getting the best work out.  Circuits can improve your balance, stamina, endurance and build core stability.  It can also achieve total body sculpting, work against gravity to double the calorie burn and gain muscle.  Perform as many reps of each exercise as you can in 60 seconds Super sets for faster gains.  Gain leg strength; put your legs through these circuit sessions and flood your body with testosterone, accelerate muscle growth and gain the edge in running/any sport. Men can suffer from low testosterone level that prevents them from getting the desired effect of work out. Check out https://mantalityhealth.com/low-testosterone-symptoms/ to learn more about this health issue and the way to treat it.

Circuits offer good technique, good posture and man/woman of steel workouts.  I am passionate about health and fitness and want to help you reach your goal whatever that may be…..come to a class and feel your metabolism burn. The recommended sr9009 dosage will speed up the process of building lean muscle mass and increase endurance.

Classes commence March until November at Leazes Park, Richardson Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, and we meet beside the bandstand in the park on Wednesday evenings 5.30pm-6.30pm and Saturday mornings at 10.30am-11.30am.  We have people of all ages, levels and ability.

Hope to see you at a class soon!

Stephen

I’ve been going to CITP for the last couple of years, and can honestly say it’s played a massive part in getting me fit. It’s great for improving your all round strength and fitness, and it’s only when I cut down on circuits and started running more that I picked up injuries….a lesson that we all need a balance in our training….
What Stephen doesn’t say is how much hard work, enthusiasm and passion he puts into CITP, and how he takes pleasure in helping people of all abilities improve their fitness and health… Give it a go, yes it’s hard, and you’ll be blowing…..and you WILL be blowing…. but it’ll make you faster, stronger and tougher!!!
I’m not just saying this because I’m his dad, it really is good, ask the TBH’ers who’ve already tried it!

Cracking report Stephen. I’d recommend to anyone, what more do people want, training outdoors and for only £1.00 donation which goes to a great cause!! Doesn’t matter what fitness levels you are at there’s a place for everyone and you couldn’t meet a friendly bunch of people that take part. Get taking part people and Stephen (Dicka) will have you fit in no time ;-)!!
