Redcar Half Marathon – 30th September 2012

Tyne Bridge had five members running in the 30th Redcar Half Marathon, and although the strong westerly winds made life difficult, every one of them performed stoically. First for the club (and finishing in 28th position overall) was David Daniels, in 1:22:30. Next was Dave Young, in 1:33:02, closely followed by Sophie Marr, 1:33:13. Fourth member across the line was Emma …

Loch Ness Marathon – 30th September 2012

Congratulations to club members, Steve Cairns, Alex Lockwood and Chris Graham, who completed this year’s Loch Ness Marathon. Just a few days after running a 55min 10 mile race, Steve ‘jogged’ around the marathon in a time of 2:52, and as David Coleman would probably have commented, “That is quite remarkable”. Alex posted a superb time of 3:27, …

Dumfries Half Marathon – 23rd September 2012

Still jubilant after his great run, Dave Moir sends in this race report from the Dumfries Half Marathon.   A tough course ?? I’m still undecided if this is a hard course or not. It’s not a flat course by any stretch of the imagination (a rumour that our friends from Morpeth Harriers fed us and …

parkrun roundup 22nd September 2012

The majority of North-east parkrun events witnessed an increase in their attendances this weekend, which no doubt was a result of the recent GNR and the buzz still going around the country following the Games. Long it may continue. And for Tyne Bridge Harriers, the weekend was equally satisfying, with two 1st place finishes and one 2nd place finish at various …
