parkrun results, 28th January 2012

Unbelievable, you wait all weekend for something to read on the website then all of a sudden two articles are posted within a few minutes Anyhow…

In addition to a strong showing at the Northern Cross-Country Championships (see race reports on website), Tyne Bridge Harriers was also represented at several parkrun events over the weekend, principally at Newcastle, where 11 registered club members took part, at Sunderland (1 member) and Leeds Roundhay park (1 member).

Well done to all those competing, especially Vanessa Lawrence and Paul Gibson for making their parkrun debuts, and congratulations to Chris Parkin for his PB (Personal Best) time of 23m 49s at Newcastle.

334 participants completed the run, with the first male to finish Jed MARSHALL (M) (Gateshead Harriers & AC) in a time of 00:17:03. The first lady completing the course was Maxine CZARNECKA (F) (Morpeth Harriers & AC) in a time of 00:19:18.

 127 participants completed the run on Saturday, with the first male to finish Chris EASTON (M) (Chapel Allerton Road Runners) in a time of 00:18:37. The first lady completing the course was Jenni MUSTON (F) (Charnwood AC) in a time of 00:21:25.

Results for Sunderland parkrun, event number 113, 28/01/2012.

107 participants completed the run, with the first male to finish John MATTHEWS (M) (26.2 RRC) in a time of 00:18:19. The first lady completing the course was Angela HUNTER (F) (Chester-le-Street & District AC) in a time of 00:19:12.

(Note: Sunderland must be one of the most difficult parkrun events in the country, where the course begins on ascent and finishes on ascent, both of which are absolute monsters. Anyone looking for a challenging 5k should pop down to Sunderland one Saturday morning)
