Tyne Bridge Harriers want as many athletes out as possible for this inaugural race. The various disciplines are set out below. This is a great start to the cross country season and will ask questions of each athletes ability as they vie against competitors from other clubs.

Womens’ Club Champion Catherine Willis is leading the way for the ladies group by committing herself to this event this season. Catherine hates cross country but it shows the drive and endeavour at the club and I urge fellow members to strike these dates off on your diary.

Release the dogs of war, lets get Tyne Bridge through the divisions without hesitation. Your club needs you

Well after a plug like that, I darent miss a date now!!!! Come on TBHs… cross country is a love-hate relationship… I did it once many moons ago in 2004… HATED IT and never touched it again… that is until now…

if you’re new to it, you will probably hate the weather conditions but you will love that you went out there in those weather conditions to compete for the club… get your your spikes on, pull on your vest and get those gloves at the ready…. it’s going to be fun, fun, fun!

I haven’t run a cross country since school (which was really just jogging round the field) but since hearing EVERYONE who knows going on about it – I’m in! Looking forward to the mud, less so the blood. But sounds like it’s the real deal – plus I’ve always felt that a proper runner had to have a pair of spikes to hand. Looking forward to the winter season!
