Jesmond Dene
Four runners from Tyne Bridge Harriers were present yesterday evening for the first in the series of Jesmond Dene Handicap Races 2011 hosted by Heaton Harriers.
Micky Baker, Marc Fenwick, Rob Kirtley & Emma Moir lined up at the start at their allocated handicapped times to take on the beautiful & scenic undulating 5k course through Jesmond Dene & Heaton Park.
The start and finish of the race is on Armstrong Bridge and conditions were perfect for racing as the first runners in a small but perfectly formed field of 82 got underway on the whistle.

Well done to our TBH runners.
Superb running from Marc Fenwick who got second fastest time of the night with 17:31, just missing out on a top 10 spot.
This is a great course and a very well organised set of races thanks to George Routledge and the volunteer marshals from Heaton for their valuable work. Although the races take place on one of our club training nights, I would highly recommend that you give at least one a go during the series.
